Gender Discrimination at Workplaces

In Pakistan gender relations are characterized by a relationship of domination and subordination between men and women and maintained mainly through a strict sexual division of labour and demarcation of space into private and public domains restricting women's physical mobility. Gender inequality inhibits women's access to opportunities to enhance their basic capabilities such as education, health and skills. With lesser access to opportunities for quality education, women are not able to derive benefits from productive labour market and from technological advancement. Lack of access to resources (i.e. property and credit) and deprivation of public goods (i.e, information and legal rights) increase women's vulnerability in both private and public sphere.
