The previous Pakistan People’s Party led coalition government had recruited 5000 teachers under Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package on contract basis. The dozens of the teachers had been continuing their protest and sit-in on Railway Hockey Roundabout on third consecutive day. PIDA management using delaying tactics
Lahore, May 15: Despite the LHC orders to look into the issue of contract employees, Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority (PIDA) management is using delaying tactics to settle the matter, The Nation has learnt. Sources in the authority disclosed on May 14 that “General Manager Transition Management (GMTM) invited four PIDA officials to discuss the issue in light of P&D report. The PIDA officers of Faisalabad range Managers Operation both for East and West and two Managers (I&S) attended the meeting. GB employees demand regularisation
GILGIT, May 13: More than 250 ad hoc employees of food department of Gilgit-Baltistan are awaiting regularisation of services. “We submitted collective applications for regularisation of our services like other departments but the concerned authorities did not pay heed to our genuine demands,” said Waqas Ahmed, an ad hoc employee. But, instead of regularising the service, the authorities fired some 52 employees without payment of their salaries of eight months, he regretted. Another employee Shamsullah alleged those who could grease the palms of the concerned officials were made permanent but those who couldn’t have been denied regularisation. 500 teachers regularised in February: FDE starts verifying documents
ISLAMABAD, April 29: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has started verification of the documents of over 500 daily wage teachers selected for regularisation in February 2013. The decision to verify the documents was taken after getting complaints that a large number of teachers selected for regularisation had used fake documents, it has been learnt. Last-minute order: FDE in a fix over regularisation of over 2,000 employees
ISLAMABAD, April 23rd: The decision of the outgoing Pakistan Peoples Party government to regularise over 2,000 teaching and non-teaching staff is becoming a bitter pill for the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to swallow. When contacted, Model Colleges Director Dr Tariq Masood said the case was pending with the finance ministry and they were still waiting for a reply.
