ABBOTTABAD, May 21: President of the All Pakistan Pensioners Associations, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fida Mohammad Durrani, has said they will stage a sit-in outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to press for acceptance of their demands. Addressing a press conference at the press club here on May 20, Mr Durrani demanded granting of documents attestation powers to the retried officers, 33 per cent quota for their families in jobs, increase in family pension up to 100 per cent and special quota for the disabled children of the retired employees. He was accompanied by Syed Noor Ahmed Shah, Hazara division president of the association, Manan Qureshi, divisional general secretary, and others. A professor’s complaint
May 15: I WOULD like to bring my case, which appears to be one of deliberate victimisation, to the attention of higher authorities. I do not know whether this will help to resolve the issue or not but at least I would be able to expose how the same set of rules are being applied differently under exactly similar situations. I retired as professor from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, on April 11, 2012, after being associated with it since Nov 1976. I was one of the tenure track teachers at the UET and, according to the university policy, teachers on the Tenure Track System (TTS) were given pension benefits for the years on TTS in lieu of one month’s gratuity per year. PWWB seeks applications for allowing marriage grants
Rawalpindi, May 6: The Punjab Workers Welfare Board (PWWB) has sought applications from the employees registered with the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) or the Social Security Department for marriage grants of their daughters. The scheme, under which a grant amounting to Rs100,000 will be given against each case, is also applicable on female workers wishing to get married. “But, the lady workers can avail this facility only for one-time,” official sources in the PWWB told this agency here on May 5. KMC workers demand timely salaries as per court orders
KARACHI, May 3: President Sajjan Union of KMC Zulfiqar Shah urged the authorities to ensure implementation of Sindh High Court (SHC) orders ensuring payment of salaries and pensions to the workers accordingly by 10th of each month.
