Fixing of minimum wage

 Letter to editor, March 11: THE Workers Employers Bilateral Council of Pakistan (WEBCOP) has recently organised a session on stakeholders’ consultation on minimum wage and labour market. The purpose was to introduce a non-profit organisation named the Wage Indicator Foundation, which was established in 2003 by the University of Amsterdam and FNV Dutch Confederation of Trade Unions. Operations of the Foundation extend to 55 countries, including Pakistan. It provides information on wage rates prevailing in those countries for all categories of employees on a reciprocal basis. Wage Indicator relies on data collected from employees or freelancers. Introduction of WEBCOP
