LAHORE, July 4: Taking notice of an anonymous complaint, the Supreme Court on July 4 sought explanation from the Punjab home secretary, the services secretary and the inspector general about implementation of the court’s order against out-of-turn promotions in the police.
Justice Amir Hani Muslim took notice on the complaint that stated the police hierarchy was not ready to implement the apex court’s order against out-of-turn promotions of police officers.
The complaint stated that many officers were still holding their previous posts in violation of the court’s order.
It further stated that out-of-turn promotions in the department were tantamount to usurping rights of eligible officers.
The anonymous complainant asked the court to take notice of violation of its decision and get it implemented in true letter and spirit.
