Karachi, Mar 4: The Sindh High Court on Mar 3 issued notices to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), secretary local government and others on a petition related to deputation of officers in the KMC’s education department.
The petitioners, Zahid Hussain and others, submitted that they were all appointed in the KMC education department and deputed to different posts. They submitted that the Supreme Court had ordered repatriation of all employees and officers who were working in other departments on deputation but, despite the orders, many of the deputed employees were still working in the KMC education department.
The petitioners contended that these employees had been illegally absorbed in the education department and were being given out-of-turn promotions, in negation of the apex court’s orders. They urged the court to order repatriation of all such employees to their parent department. The bench, headed by Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar, issued notices to KMC, secretary local government and others, calling for their comments on March 17.
